Welcome
During the early 80s of the last century Rev.Swami Vireshwaranandaji Maharaj, the then President, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishan Mission desired that the Ramakrishna Mission should concentrate more on rural welfare activities. An all Karnataka Youth Convention was organized by the Ramakrishna Math, Bangalore in January 1984. One of the major decisions taken in this Convention was Rural Development work to be undertaken near Bangalore. In August 1984, as a first step, a mobile medical unit was started with a team of 10 volunteers and two doctors covering 35 villages in and around Shivanahalli. Now this has grown to cover more than 200 villages attracting an ever increasing number of patients from far and wide.
In the next year the Math, with the help of volunteers, started a school, a vocational training center and also agriculture-horticulture development work for the villages.

My ideal, indeed, can be put into a few words, and that is: to preach unto mankind their divinity, and how to make it manifest in every moment of life.
